I know it’s the most wonderful time of the year, but I actually have a dislike for this Holy Holiday. I mean I go through the motions for the grand kids, I mean who doesn’t like to see the little ones happy?
Besides the religious aspect being the Birth of the Savior that is fine and dandy, but in this time of the jovial fat man passing out gifts there are some startling but true oddities associated with this most wonderful of Holidays, as well as some not so true.
Suicides Increase drastically over the winter holidays, I could believe this, it’s not so far fetched, below means can not provide coal to stuff the stockings by the wall, memories of past loved ones no longer around to celebrate with. Yes though morbid I am sure there are suicides that coincide with the holidays, but “increase drastically?”
Snopes has this listed as a false rumor, but how can you tell for sure? I am certain Jamie and Adam will not be doing an episode of Mythbusters on this rumor anytime soon, Although I would like to see if it’s possible to get a DUI after eating aunt Martha’s fruitcake that’s been re-gifted for 40 years.
No matter what your Holiday is I hope you enjoy it to your heart content, just leave people to their faith, their belief system and hope for peace on earth and good will to all men. Now let’s get out
