Apple Please Stop – An Open Letter

I do not want Safari! If i did I would get it on my own, I am quite capable of deciding for my self what browser to use. I do know you are a very reputable company with an outstanding operating system, and also the maker of my Ipod (which I love dearly), but how many time do I have to say I do not want Safari.

I can undertan unchecking the box once, although leaving it unchecked would make more sense. It is just that after I get all the needed Itune updates ( I have a 2nd gen) the dam box comes back again, PLEASE STOP!!!

  1. Step 1: Go to Edit->Ignore This Update.
Step 2: There is no step 2

  2. Thanks I will look for that next time, but how hard is it to leave the box blank?

  3. Doesn’t any one else hate this? c’mon I won’t tell Kevin Rose. LOL

Once you choose Ignore, it will leave the box blank. Is it really that big of a deal? It’s not like they’re installing software without permission. Once you’d installed parts of Apple’s software suite (on Windows) for free, you’ll be notified when your installed software is upgraded, or when Apple releases a new product for Windows.

If that’s not acceptable, why not just turn off auto-updates?

  5. Bloody Steve Jobs. Always trying to use underhand techniques to fulfill his greed

  6. I don’t use Mac… only Windows for now because it is more user friendly. But I think Mac is bug free.

  7. I did what was suggested and told it to ignore it let us see if it does, with 5 computers in the family it is that big of a deal to me. I may be wrong in feeling that it is better to OPT in by choice then having to OPT out with pre-checked boxes. Any company that does this should stop.
    Thanks for the feedback!
