When the fighting and bickering are not going on I find a few hands of holdem to be very relaxing. Right now I am in a tournament, this tournament consists of 24 players and we each paid a billion dollar buy in to participate. We each start out with 10000 chips. There is chat by text…

But it is mostly used for such things as NH ( nice hand) GG (good game) etc.

There were 24 players entered in this tourney when I started, we are now down to 22. I play just to pass the time but there are many play very serious as this is their only thing to do in life. It is played pretty much like you would see on TV on one of the holdem tourneys on the world series of poker. Blinds steadily increasing every 3 min. usually so a play can not wait for that “perfect hand”. I don’t think there are any actual pros that play there, but one never knows.

We are now at the final table! This means there are 8 players left.

Oh well I finished 5th and it paid thru forth Just my luck!

All this talk of cheating had me running around in circles. Would I cheat someone intentionally? Would you? Let us think about this for a few minutes. TIc Tic Tic. Solitaire I am sure some of you that are reading this remember solitaire? No not the one that came installed on your Windows computer, the kind that you actually had to open a box, or remove a rubber band from a deck of cards, shuffle and deal. Stop think have you turned over the cards in the correct order all thru the game never to deviate? Ever peaked at on of the hidden cards? Well if you have you cheated! Plain and simple Right? But who did you cheat? You aren’t playing anyone but yourself, you aren’t being ranked for a prize or a cash out? You not really cheating are you? I have cheated a few times I am not perfect.

I will tell you I like playing games, ball games, card games, head games etc… Ill stop there want to keep this non NSFW ! (joke for all you). There are the fun players that play and could care less what happens they are just happy to be playing. There are the ultimate players that have to win and every thing has to be done 100% to the rules! There are the casual players that just try it out don’t understand the game but want to have fun! I like all players makes the game interesting. What does all this have to do with Rules being made to be broken, and Praying?

What I really wanted this post to include is in the age of time that I am in this world I have raised 6 children, 3 mine 2 hers and 1 ours, if you want the break down! We of course do not or have we ever looked at it that way! They are all “Our” Kids. My kids lost their mother to cancer when they were very young, We had our ups and downs and excitement in the household as you can imagine, I mean at one time there were 4 teens in the house, but that is a completely different story, and I am way off track.

The only reason I brought up the kids is so I can talk about video gaming and cheating, we are taught I think that cheating is OK. Don’t beleive me go to Target game section look at all the magazines on how to cheat, cheat codes, walk thrus, now you can do a google search for cheats and see what comes up? There are programs marketed that helps you cheat. Some people will come up with the stupid comment, (I could give an example here but won’t) “just because it is there doesn’t mean it’s is right, cheating on an online game is like smoking crack or using illegal drugs”. ( I lied gave the example anyway).

Let us pray, for sake of argument I am on an on-ling game and it is solitaire my chips are my chips and I may win a fake trophy if I win so many games in a row. I figure out that if the ace of spades shows up on the down turn and I left click on it 3 times I get a free fake trophy I fill my trophy case wouldn’t you? I mean that is how the game was written. Have you heard of Easter Egg, Glitch. Back Door, or would you rather call it an EXPLOIT! sounds better don’t it?

Then to be fair we can start a forum for all to start having conversations on the game and slanderinging eachother call a spade a spade so to speak, but wait this may curtail sails of the game to newbies we can not have this so everyonce in a while have some-one grab an eraser and get rid of the negative items. Grow the business.

Forum for people to discuss things?

Yeah, did you notice the misspelling? Pretty clever huh? I got your attention yet? This is more of a rant I guess than a post a rant about a forum I visit. On-line gaming is fun! Yes. I love on-line gaming! You know that in an on-line community little cliques form quickly.

This is all fun and games until someone gets hurt, “you’ll shoot your eye out kid“. By now you are asking what the hell is he talking about?  I hate the way a company puts up a discussion board (forum) and selective deletes things it doesn’t agree with, don’t you? Well unless you have named yourself after a popular soft-drink you do, or you simply do not care!

Well, I do! Not that it matters, I wonder should one put up an open forum that is not censored in anyway? Or do you think that the same cliques will form and you will have the opposite of the original?  One could bounce back and forth reading  the two, to get the full story and of course occasionally Fox!

ArtMoney And Phantom EFX

To Cheat or not to Cheat that is the question. Just WTF is the answer?  With all the latest fiasco on the Phantom EFX on-line casino. I thought I would do a little detective work. Seem that some players found a nifty little program that would add to your account and was (according to the website) Totally Legal!.

Well Legal according to who (or is it whom?). The program does it’s “magic” by finding the specific address where a quantity exists such as dollars, bullets, swords, lives, etc. etc. etc. etc.

Example if you know you have 239000 dollars, then ArtMoney will search for that amount and you can change it to 467645347363774 or what ever, you do the actual changing of the number so in reality the program is not cheating…. Hmm.

This again from their page “using artmoney is totally legal, it is not a copy, hack, crack or an unprotected. ” It also goes on to say you may not use it for illegal actions. Confused? Yeah Me too, so more digging.

I did find this on another page,  ArtMoney is not intended for multiplayer or online games, but sometimes it can work. Strange indeed, so I dug a little deeper and got into the FAQ.

The very first question on the list, lo and behold. “Can we use this software to cheat in multiplayer/online games? NOW so I don’t screw up I am going to copy and paste the answer here with a link back.

1. Can we use this software to cheat in multiplayer/online games?
ArtMoney is not intended for multiplayer or online games. ArtMoney allows you to change values stored on your PC. Whether ArtMoney works in multiplayer/online-games or not depends on where the user-data is stored (if it is stored on the server PC or if it is stored on your PC).

• If the user-data is stored on the server PC then the server holds the actual values. The values on your PC are just local copies of the user-data. If you change a value on your PC (like you have 5 bullets and give yourself 100 bullets) the server still holds the old data (5 bullets). If you shoot once the server decreases his data by 1 and sends the new value (4 bullets) to your PC. So your changes have no effect. But it could happen that the game recognizes the difference between the server-value and the value stored on your PC and excludes you from the game (because you cheated). If you sit on the server PC (if you play a game in a local network) you normally can cheat this game and you normally could also modify the values of all other players (because the server stores the data of all users). If you play an online game and the user-data is stored on the Internet-server then you have no chance to cheat this game using ArtMoney. ArtMoney can not access the data on the Internet-server.
• If the user-data is stored on your PC then your PC stores all data. The values on the server are just copies. So here you can use ArtMoney to cheat this game. Your changes will take effect. Here it is not important if you play a multiplayer game or an online game, you can cheat the game.

Whether ArtMoney works with a certain multiplayer/online game or not, you can only find out by trying it. But even if you could not find anything in a multiplayer/online game, it could be possible, that ArtMoney works! Because the found addresses could be moved in memory (if you restart a level / game), games could “hide” their values and values could be stored and shown in different ways.

Now I am not an expert, but the way I interpret this valuable piece of information is that Phantom EFX is using all the little users hard drives to  the data on. What a coincidence! How many people have had a hard drive failure since installing all of the EFX games. I for one have and I know of at least 3 others in my guild.

Seems like all of this could have been avoided if Phantom hosted the game and all the data on their own server instead of expecting us not to play with the data that resides on our own hard drive, with their server data being just a copy.

I do not feel sorry for them at all, game hacks and cheats have been around since pong.
